Sheep Request List
We are now accepting requests for our remaining 2026 lambs. We will be using BRE 2096 ‘Rainier’ (RR) in 2026 again.
We still have a small amount of 2025 lambs available. This year we lambed throughout Winter and Spring, so we have a range of ages. Our winter lambing group is from a handful of the top 2024 ram lambs out of KSP 2233 ‘Atlantis’. Our spring lambing group is out of our new 2025 herd sire, BRE 2096 ‘Rainier’ (RR).
We also have mature and yearling sheep available this year.
Please indicate what you’re looking for below so we can properly match animals, based on your needs.

At Firefly Farms, our focus is on Katahdin sheep, a resilient and parasite-resistant hair breed. We take pride in our prolific lines, known for their easy mothering. We have a range of fully registered to commercial, we are in the process of “upgrading / upbreeding” our flock. We use a registered ram every year, so every lamb will be at least 50% recordable and we will be able to administer hair tests on lambs over 88.5% to consider them registerable. For our commercial lines, I still have their mothering and medical history over the past 3-7 years.
-
We are a forage-based farm, and prioritize forage-based genetics. Feeding off the land or offering hay over winter. We do not creep feed.
Exceptions:
Grain Treats - Our sheep get grain as the occasional treat, for moving and handling purposes.
Supplementation - We will supplement for health purposes..
-
Our sheep live a natural life, grazing on pastures and benefiting from our rotational grazing practices. We move them every 1-3 days during the warmer seasons using portable electric netting for both their health and the land. We over-winter our sheep in shelters close to the house, with access to heated water.
We do hooves once a year unless otherwise needed. We only worm as needed and try to do a fecal test ahead of time.
We offer free-choice loose mineral (custom mixed at our local mill) and baking soda year round, with an added coccidiostat around lambing.
-
We take biosecurity seriously, our animals have come from clean-tested farms (OPP, Johnes, CL) and any new animals are tested during a 60-day quarantine. Our animals do not leave the farm, they are not rented out or shown.
-
We do not buy cheap animals from the auction house, we buy animals from farms that raise animals similarly to how we do. Mainly only bringing in new rams, with genetics chosen to continue to improve our flock.
2025/2026 Herd Sire: BRE 2096 ‘Rainier’ (RR)
Lamb requests: Our lambs are sold selectively, catering to various needs such as breeding stock, pets, and meat, depending on each lamb's individual quality. To express your interest and preferences, please use the form provided. We'll get in touch as our lambs grow to discuss what's available and how we can meet your requirements.
If, for any reason, we can't fulfill your request, we'd be happy to recommend a comparable breeder.
Please feel free to view our flock, or reach out with any questions.
The timing of when they are able to leave the farm depends on the purpose. 90-120 days for lambs, 60+ days for those destined for the dinner table.
A few things to note: We don't dock tails, We do administer CDT vaccinations. For castration requests, there is an additional fee. Please be aware that we do not permit on-farm slaughter. We will disclose and provide medical records for the animal.
